Open the phone to your first angle, then your second, then your third. Hold each for a moment, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and the vault opens. Close the phone and it locks on the spot.
Angle Lock is an iPhone app by Rivership, an indie studio in Tokyo. It is for keeping short notes and a few files, such as Wi-Fi passwords, door codes or booking numbers, out of a plain notes app.
On a folding phone running iOS 27.1, the opening angle is read from the hinge. You choose 2 or 3 angles and how close you need to be (±6°, ±10° or ±15°). Nothing on screen reveals the angles; the gauge shows only where the phone is now. On a phone without a hinge, an on-screen dial covers the same 0 to 180° range.
One-time purchase.
Angle Lock is a one-time purchase with no subscription and no in-app purchases. The price is shown on the App Store.
Notes and files stay in this app on this phone, written with the system's file protection so they are unreadable while the phone is locked. There is no iCloud sync, no account, no analytics, and the app never connects to the internet.
