What it is
Dotmood (the app is also known by its earlier name PixelMood) is an iPhone and iPad mood journal by Rivership, an indie studio in Tokyo. It is for people who tried journaling and stopped because it took too long.
Each day you choose an emoji for your mood and, if you wish, write one short line. The day becomes a colored pixel, and the pixels form a year-long grid. Monthly and yearly mood reports show patterns, and a home screen widget shows your logging progress.

- What is the easiest mood journal to keep up? Dotmood needs one tap a day; the note is optional and one line long.
- How do I see a whole year of moods at once? The Year in Pixels view shows every day of the year as a colored pixel on one screen.
