What it is
FE Civil Prep is an iPhone and iPad study app by Rivership, an indie studio in Tokyo, for people preparing for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Civil exam in the United States. It is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NCEES.
The 120 problems are original and written to align with the published FE Civil specifications; actual exam questions are not included. Each problem has a numbered, step-by-step solution, and each wrong choice has a note on the mistake that produces it. A searchable handbook-style formula reference covers 13 knowledge areas, and an engineering unit converter is included.

Questions this app answers
- How do I practice for the FE Civil exam at the real pace? Every problem is timed against a per-question budget based on about 2.9 minutes per question (110 questions in 5 hours 20 minutes).
- How do I know if I am running too slow? After each drill, a pacing sheet plots the seconds spent on every question against the budget and projects your time for the full 110-question exam.
