ReceiptOwl reads the merchant, amount and date from a receipt photo using on-device text recognition (Japanese and English). You check the result, choose a category, and see spending by category. No account; data stays on your iPhone. Free for 10 receipts.
ReceiptOwl (App Store name: ReceiptOwl: Receipt Scanner; project name ReceiptVault) is an iPhone and iPad receipt keeper by Rivership, an indie studio in Tokyo. It is for people who want a simple record of receipts for household or small expense tracking.
You add a receipt photo, the app suggests the merchant, amount and date by reading the text on the device, and you confirm or correct them. You then choose the category yourself and can add a note.
Free: up to 10 receipts, CSV export and backup. ReceiptOwl Pro is a subscription that removes the receipt limit, adds the PDF report and category analytics, and removes ads. Prices and any free trial are shown in the app.
