Recipin: paste a recipe URL and keep it in one place

Recipin reads the ingredients, steps and cooking time from a recipe page when you paste its URL, and saves them with a link back to the original. Tag and search your recipes, tick off ingredients, and keep the screen on while cooking. No account.

What Recipin is

Recipin (project name Simmer) is an iPhone app by Rivership, an indie studio in Tokyo, for gathering recipes that are scattered across different recipe websites and apps.

It works with pages that publish structured recipe data (schema.org Recipe), falls back to the page's title and image when they do not, and was made with Japanese recipe sites in mind. The App Store listing is currently in Japanese; the app interface has English and Japanese strings.

Questions Recipin answers

03

What it can do

  • Import by URL: reads schema.org Recipe data; if there is none it falls back to Open Graph, then to the title and URL only.
  • Source link kept: every recipe keeps the link to the original page.
  • Cooking mode: screen stays on; tap to tick off ingredients.
  • Tags and search: organize with tags; search by name, ingredient or site.
  • Free tier: up to 8 recipes.
04

What it does not do

  • Import depends on the page: some sites do not publish structured data and only the title and link may be saved.
  • It does not host or copy recipes from a catalog; you save pages you paste.
  • The App Store text is in Japanese for now.

Pricing

Free: up to 8 recipes. Recipin Pro removes the limit and ads. Pro is a one-time purchase (no auto-renewal); the price is shown in the app.

No account. Recipes are stored on your device. When you paste a URL, the app fetches that page directly from the website to read the recipe. The free version may show ads through Google AdMob, which may ask for tracking permission; Pro shows no ads.
